Translated version of poem
“License Pharmacist
Sitting in the same seat
While teaching about the importance of pharmacists and pharmacy,
She kept thinking about the cost of the license rent.
While others are pledging to provide proper pharmaceutical care to millions of patients,
Reducing antibiotics and multi-drug resistance cases,
She was dreaming of earning 5000 monthly by paying rent for the license.
Not even always can a doctor
Fully detail about
ADRs, DIs, poly-pharmacy, and information on new drugs,
Even though such sentences come to mind thousands of times,
She was fixated on the 5000 value obtained from the license rent.
Elders – where medicine is, there is a pharmacist,
While the concerned authorities are enforcing,
She was saying the rent price for the license needs to increase,
While the landlord was running around.
Neither did she care about the profession
Going anywhere,
Nor did she realize her duty towards the health sector,
Her mindset always leaned towards making profit.
It will be long
When she realizes
That by having taken many medicines,
Antibiotic and multi-drug resistance have been happening.
Regret will be there now,
For her one mistake,
Many lives have been ruined here,
We must openly oppose those selling licenses, friends.
Moral of this poem:
If you forget your duty,
It will be your cause of end. Author: Nirajan Regmi [Pharmacist]”
